Clayton Sammons was born in 1991, and grew up in Brady, a small town in the geographic center of Texas. From a very young age, he was always drawing or building something in the garage. After high school, he went on to study fine art at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX where he became very interested in the possibilities of paint, later graduating with a B.F.A. in painting.
Clayton's Narrative/Still Life/Figurative/Landscape paintings mesh the lines of many genres, embracing historical and contemporary relevance. The 3-dimensionality, strong compositions and technical elements capture the viewer, allowing them to enter the painting and piece together the story.
Clayton Sammons is fortunate at his age to have coast to coast, international and celebrity collectors, he owns and operates The Fredericksburg Art Gallery, a storefront on the famous Main Street of Fredericksburg, Texas.
A few inspirations: Thomas Hart Benton, Eduard Hopper, Ernie Barnes, Wayne Thiebaud, Mark Tansy, etc.
